History

Dr. Oetker brand's foundation was laid by young pharmacist Dr. August Oetker in 1891 in his pharmacy at Bielefeld. Dr. August Oetker started to pack and sell baking powder for 500 g flour in 1893. Shortly after the turn of the century Dr. Oetker opened its first food factory. In a short while the company expanded in West and East Europe countries and sustained its continuous improvement. Starch, vanillin sugar and pudding are the first products of the company. Including South America and Brazil, today Dr. Oetker is active in over 40 countries around the world in year 2010.

Dr. Oetker enterprises in all countries are managed by Oetker International whose headquarter is in Bielefeld. Oetker International appertains to Oetker group who is present in beer, wine, champagne, marine, hotel and finance services.

Dr. Oetker Turkey has been founded in 1987 in Izmir and moved to new Torbali premises in year 1999. Dr. Oetker Turkey has been developing product range continuously and it has reached over 160 products primarily pudding, cake mixes, baking powder, vanillin sugar, traditional turkish desserts serie, frozen pizza and food service.

Dr. Oetker brand image is based on 'the best taste and quality' adopts the slogan of  'Quality is the best recipe'. Dr. Oetker Turkey makes up the principle to fulfill consumers’ requirements in best way. With this principle, it makes raw material selection with utmost attention and quality control in every stage of production. Dr. Oetker Turkey’s high technology and strict hygiene production have been approved by TS-EN-ISO 9001 Quality Management Certificate in year 1997. By outstanding success, the company has certified by ISO 9000, HACCP in 2003 and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard in 2006.

Dr. Oetker Turkey has been realizing all new product and recipe trials in experimental kitchen in production premises under home conditions in order to keep its promise to consumers and improve success of products.
